ABOUT THE CAMP
Each summer, Grand River Raceway is proud to host the Ontario Harness Racing Youth Camp.

This exciting program offers 8 local youngsters between the ages of 10-13 the chance to learn about harness racing in a hands-on environment. Each participant will work in pairs with a retired Standardbred racehorse. The camp includes special guests such as veterinarians and blacksmiths.

At the end of camp, participants will actually race against one another on race night!

This 4-day camp is free, but children must submit an application and essay to be considered for selection. The camp is hosted by Grand River Raceway in cooperation with the Ontario Harness Horse Association. More than 600 children have participated in the Ontario Harness Racing Youth Camp program since its inception seven years ago!
