Join host Darryl MacArthur for the scoop behind the scenes, between the races, every Monday night on the Tarmac Show. Darryl reports before every race, live from the paddock with news and insight about the horses, as relayed to him by the trainers, drivers and caretakers of the horses.

RACE SIX CHEERLEADING SQUAD
Complete your program ballot and pick your favourite horse in race six. One cheerleader is randomly drawn per horse. If we call your name, we’ll suit you up with Grand River Raceway gear, toss you the pom-poms and watch you cheer up a storm! The winning cheerleader receives a $50 betting voucher (18+).

Submit your program ballot before race 2 and you may be drawn to select your favourite driver for races 3-6. Every time your driver wins, you win $10.

GRANDY THE GREY’S COMMON THREAD
Track mascot Grandy The Grey drops by to announce the names of three horses in one race. Use the racelines in your program to identify one common thread shared by each horse, and win prizes - and a sloppy horsey-kiss from Grandy (optional).

The NEIGHbourhood comes to the TARMAC TENT!
New for 2010: The NEIGHbourhood is an interactive equine edutainment program which runs 7pm - 9pm on Friday race nights from June through August. Kids will learn the basics about horses and racehorses, all presented in a fun and hands-on forum.

Fun & frivolity abounds with the Bouncy Pony Stakes! It’s inflatable mayhem as four patrons drive our stable of world champion inflatable steeds: Bouncestreos, Airpaches Fame, Airedmirals Express and the richest Bouncy Pony of all-time, the great Gallo Bounce Chip. The winning driver earns a $50 betting voucher (18+).
